Our 2022 Recap!

2022 has come to an end, and we've been inspired not only to look forward into what is coming in 2023, but to look back on the titles our readers (that's you!) have loved in 2022. (p.s. if you'd like to see our thoughts on 2023 new releases, check out Our 2023 Most Anticipated! blog post!)

So - what were your favorite titles in 2022? The Firetrucker Book Club selections were a huge hit this year, capturing 6 of the top 10 places! (7, if you count 2021's choice The House in the Cerulean Sea). This includes lots of love for DSM local author Tracey Garvis Graves with our #9 Most Popular Title Heard It in a Love Song! Talk about supporting local! And while lots of readers added the (unofficial) hottest title of 2022, Jennette McCurdy's  I'm Glad My Mom Died, to their TBRs, many of you also showed tons of love for the Authors Visiting in Des Moines (AVID) program by picking up Amanda Montell's Cultish! It's so amazing to see the community supporting local in so many ways!

2022's Most Popular Titles

What are your most loved books? Since the very first day we opened our virtual doors, The House in the Cerulean Sea has been a universal favorite. And while book clubs may hold sway over what is popular in a current moment,  these tried-and-true titles have captivated all kinds of readers across all age ranges and genres!

John Busbee - March 22, 2023

Greetings, Jena:
Hoping we can connect if you’re interested, as I have been producing my independent arts & culture radio program, The Culture Buzz, since 2007. It’s foundation is author interviews, from local to regional, state, national and international; NYTimes bestselling to select independent publications. My mission is to serve as that independent connecting point for arts, culture, theatre, history, and, of course, literature. Please take a peek at The Culture Buzz Podcast Library for an overview of the diversity of my offerings. I would like to add you to my weekly newsletter listing of Central Iowa bookstores, and hope that we can connect soon. I look forward to hearing from you via email. Take care, and best in all of your endeavors.
Sincerely,
John Busbee, Host/Producer
